Glest "Glest" as a college project a few years ago, they may not expect their games to go so far. While
"Glest" stop being developed several years ago in 2009, it branched off in two different projects:
GAME (
Glest Advanced Engine) and MegaGlest (a game I reviewed in this article). So, how? The answer is simple: this amazing game, polished, fun, addictive, clever, and just plain fantastic. Several years ago, the general consensus is that the game Software can only be developed thanks to large investments, and that can never be a very good game released as GPL. This theory was proven wrong a few times, and I can say that
MegaGlest evidence that many more fantastic games released for free can - and do - exist. This is the typical installation (sorry) story that GNU / Linux package: in this case, you can download binary
MegaGlest for GNU / Linux, double click and follow the installation instructions. However, the installation of the game is simple and easy. About the game itself, in
MegaGlest, you are part of one of the seven factions: the seven factions, Magic, Tech, India, Egypt, Vikings, Romans and Persians. After playing this game for a few hours, I know the Magic Tech factions and fractions. Picture is clear: Witchcraft faction as perhaps the most potential, but much more difficult to use and develop, on the other hand, Tech faction is the "quantity" of "quality", so to speak. Mastered all the factions may be very difficult, and strangely satisfying. I'm not the best person to talk about the game of "typical". I admit that I have my back bruised by pretty much anyone I play with online. However, it can be summed up as follows: at the beginning of the game, you create a group of workers that will be used for timber harvesting and mining gold and stone. You will also need a source of energy (depending on the fraction, could be a "beast" or also "energy source") and fighters (to attack the other faction, and defend yourself). To produce the fighters, you will need gold and other
